version 1.1 released!

I started studying python and I tought it would be fun to port (sort of) the PSPEWCServer to Unix. Turns out it really was! I also have made some tiny changes in the client. I hope you enjoy!

changelog:

01/01/2011 - v.1.1 (Client + Unix v.0.1 Python Server)

- New server! I wrote a server in python to run under Unix systems! It uses the python Xlib, which is included. The new files are under the PC/unix/ folder. The server listens for intructions in two modes:
Keypad #1 will send regular keyboard inputs;
Keypad #2 will send mouse events. The analog stick controls the pointer
position and the R and L-Trigger send the right and left mouse button presses.
Holding Select while in Keypad #2 will increase the speed of the pointer.

- The way to input the server's IP on the PSP has changed. It's a little smarter now.
- Now Start + Select will change the mode, not just Select. This way you can use Select as a button too.

  1. ENGLISH:
Hey. It doesn't work on 6.20 PRO B5 and it doesn't work on 6.20 TN-E. Am I doing something wrong?
It says connected, but pressing buttons doesn't do anything to VLC and gamepads don't recognise the driver or the psp. :(

    GOOGLE TRANSLATED PORTUGUESE:
Olá. Ele não funciona em 6,20 B5 PRO e ele não funciona em 6,20 TN-E. Estou fazendo algo errado?
Diz conectado, mas pressionar os botões não faz nada para VLC de jogo não reconhece o driver ou o PSP. : (

  3. Vince, it works fine under those versions. Maybe you should try some things to debug:
    1) Can you ping the PSP from your computer?
That is, get the PSP's ip on the PSP screen and try "ping "PSP's IP" from your computer.
    2) Try first to use it as keypad #1. You should be able to type some text as you were using your keyboard. Try typing on the notepad, for example.
    3) If you are running the server on Windows, it should print some information about what commands for vlc you are using.
    4) If that is not happening, the issue is most likely with the connection between PSP and PC. To me, seems like it could be a firewall issue. Try disabling the firewall. If that works, add a rule to tell your firewall to accept UDP connections on port 30666.
Let me know if that worked out!

  5. Valeu Marcio, eu vou dar uma olhada aqui. Mas acho estranho porque nessa versão eu nem mexi no server pra windows! Vou tirar a poeira do meu PSP hoje e dou uma verificada! Você atualizou a CFW ou algo assim?
    Valeu!
